Web Summit Qatar 2025 was a showcase of innovation, technology, and global networking, bringing together over 25,000 attendees, 1,500 startups, and 700 investors at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). With high-profile speakers like Will Smith and Jay Shetty, and a growing reputation as one of the fastest-expanding Web Summits, expectations were high.

But behind every seamless event experience is a team of technical experts ensuring everything runs smoothly. That’s where ES:ME came in.

As a key technical partner, ES:ME was responsible for rigging, lighting, staging, and AV integration across the event’s six stages. Expanding on our 2024 contributions, we delivered complex installations, precision technical planning, and on-the-ground expertise that transformed the venue into a dynamic and immersive experience.

Behind the Scenes: Turning a Vision into Reality

Producing an event of this scale requires meticulous planning and execution. The ES:ME team worked closely with Web Summit’s production crew, venue staff, and key partners to ensure every element—from towering LED screens to stage lighting—was perfectly integrated.

Key Contributions:

• Rigging – Worked closely with the Web Summit Design Team to install load-bearing rigging structures, including IBC truss towers for Centre Stage and Stage 5 setups.

• Lighting – Managed and operated advanced lighting solutions, including full Resolume operation for Centre Stage.

• Staging – Constructed and configured all six stages, incorporating customised camera risers for optimal filming.

• LED Screens – Installed Centre Stage, Pitch Stage, Medium Stage, and branding screens across the venue.

• Technical Planning – Developed detailed drawings, load calculations, and rigging plans, ensuring alignment with client and venue requirements.

Tackling the Challenges

Every large-scale event comes with its challenges, and Web Summit Qatar 2025 was no exception. However, through strategic problem-solving and expert execution, our team ensured flawless delivery:

• Tight Timelines – With a packed schedule, our team worked proactively to complete rigging ahead of time, ensuring smooth transitions between different build phases.

• Complex Installations – Using a mini spider crane and cherry pickers, we navigated intricate rigging challenges, particularly with IBC tower structures.
