Our lighting equipment – the BMFL series from ROBE

April 11, 2021

Equipment: Let us introduce you to our ROBE BMFL lights

Let’s dive into the lighting part of our equipment! Today we want to introduce you to our most favorite lights to work with – the BMFL series from ROBE. Our warehouse holds the models Spot, FollowSpot and Blade:

The ROBE BMFL Spot light is a real game changer: It comes with a custom light source that produces 250.000 lux at 5 meters and the electronic motion stabilizer allows exact pan and tilt movements and can compensate vibrations from audio systems. Additionally it has a 5-55 degree zoom that allows crisp and high quality beams, making nearly anything possible.

The BMFL FollowSpot is manually or remotely controllable and takes advantage of its wide 160 mm front lens and a high CRI 1700W lamp. It comes along with great features such as smooth color mixing, two color wheels, multiple variable frost filters, focus, zoom and quick pulsing iris.

As a new series with fast-moving in-air effects through pre-programmed shape and movement sequences, the BMFL Blade can trim or frame gobo images in a regular, triangular or trapezoid shape. Like other BMFL products, the BMFL Blade comes with high-end features such as exceptionally smooth linear dimming, high definition color mixing, full width beam, and an output of 250,000 lux at 5 meters. Additionally, the Robe EMS™ (Electronic Motion Stabilizer) technology, enables the Blade to both move and stop faster and more precisely than any other fixture in its class.

In short: These lights combine established and revolutionary high-end technology and make our work even more precise. It’s amazing and fun to work with such powerful equipment on-site.

What’s up with gobos and why use them?

A gobo is a circular disc attached to a fixture that allows lighting equipment to project different images or patterns. The word gobo originated from the phrase “go between or before optics” which describes its position on a lighting fixture. Gobos are not a new technology but rather a classic tool used in the event industry everywhere in the world.
